ORBIT field notes · 10 guides
Your first few runs
Start with the movement, then give the score a little time. ORBIT has one action during play: change the curve. That leaves plenty to notice—where your companion is heading, how much room a branch leaves, and whether the scrolling forest is catching up.
Where to begin
Read the controls and first-run notes before worrying about a record. If you can enter a gap but still lose the run, move on to the scoring and collision explanations. If your run stops when you change windows, the hold-and-resume notes explain what the next tap will do. These guides cover the current browser game; the slow scene on the ready screen is a demonstration, not saved progress.
ORBIT controls: tap, click or press Space
Learn which inputs steer ORBIT, why holding Space does not keep turning, and how controls behave before and after a run.
Your first ORBIT run: aim for one complete gap
A first-run walkthrough focused on the opening, the curve and clearing a whole branch pair before chasing a score.
How ORBIT counts gaps and personal bests
Understand when a gap becomes a point, how personal bests are separated, and why total exploration differs from a run score.
Why the forest can overtake you in ORBIT
Understand the independently moving camera, the left-edge warning, and why circling safely in place still ends a run.
What ends an ORBIT run?
Distinguish branch collisions, clearing boundaries and the moving left edge so your next attempt addresses the actual cause.
Starting and retrying an ORBIT run
Learn how to start, retry after a result, and avoid accidental double inputs while the game changes state.
What the ORBIT ready-screen demonstration shows
Use the moving ready screen to understand curved steering without mistaking its slower automated run for a scored attempt.
How to resume a held ORBIT run
Understand what happens when the game loses focus, why the first tap only resumes, and why reloading is different from holding.
How to read two visible ORBIT gates without losing the first
Use a second visible opening to plan your exit while keeping attention on the branch pair your companion must clear now.
How to read an ORBIT result before retrying
Turn the score, failure reason, personal best and discovery message into a clear decision for your next attempt.
