Understand the final listed discovery
Eighty refers to cumulative cleared gaps, not the score required in one run. You can reach it through repeated short attempts with different unlocked companions and courses. The Discoveries menu shows your explored total, so use that number to measure the remaining progress. Once Inkwild is available, selecting it is a preference change rather than a reset of the other discoveries you have earned.
Compare presentation deliberately
Try Inkwild on a course you already recognize, using a familiar companion. Look at how easily you can follow the foreground character and identify the opening ahead against this palette. A quieter artistic treatment is not necessarily more readable for every player or every display. If you compare the forests, keep screen brightness, window shape and the selected companion consistent so the visual difference is the main thing you are evaluating.
Expect the same scoring rules
Changing to Inkwild does not alter how a gap scores, how the companion turns or which daily pattern is selected. Personal bests are organized by companion and course, not by forest, so the displayed best can stay unchanged when you switch. The forest’s name also appears on shared score cards as context for the image. Use Inkwild when you enjoy its presentation, while choosing Moss, Pip or Ember separately for movement. This distinction prevents an aesthetic discovery from being mistaken for a hidden difficulty mode.
