Movement makes the distinction useful
The companions are not interchangeable skins. They differ in speed, turning radius and vertical drift, so reaching a particular score asks for a different sequence of decisions. A separate best lets you learn Moss without comparing every attempt against a well-practiced Pip record. The daily pattern is repeatable for its date, but your movement through it still depends on the chosen companion.
Check three labels before diagnosing a missing score
First check whether you are on Classic or Daily. Then identify the exact daily date, if applicable. Finally check the companion. Returning to the previous combination is the simplest way to find a record that appears to have disappeared after a menu change. Changing only the forest does not create another best, so Wildwood versus Amberwood is not the missing distinction.
Separate local records from shared results
The best is normally saved in this browser’s local storage and uses the current course version. Another browser or cleared site data can show a fresh record, and a version change may use a different record category. A shared card records the result and best at the time it was prepared; it does not update whenever the sender later improves. Compare the completed run’s score when responding to an invitation. The card’s personal-best number gives context, while the challenge target comes from the score of the run that was shared.
